Follow Up Appts
Just a few updates..
My Coronary CTA and Angio ended up getting cancelled after a long day and disappointing results from the excess amounts of beta-blockers. They were unable to get my HR down to 50 (the required heart rate for a CTA). They did get my HR from the initial 140 to 80 but after that it wouldn't slow anymore. They sent me home after an entire day of monitoring (And no TV in the room I might add.. talk about boring!)... That night I felt pretty crummy. My HR was super irregular (more so than what I am used to) and it would go really slow then speed up really fast.. Thanks to Jeff and his accomplice Tammy I ended up in the ER for a quick monitoring... Our concern was that the large doses of meds given throughout the day I had gone into AFib but luckily my EKG didn't show it. I was just really irregularly irregular.. I slept it off the entire weekend and felt much better a few days later. I am still amazed at how shitty I felt with my HR being slowed so much. Beta-blockers are crummy drugs in large doses...
My cardiologist decided to forego the CTA and angio for now.. After repeating catecholmine levels he is fairly convinced my problems are not cardiac. He agrees with my nephrologist that it is the Pheo causing all the chaos.. He did however up my Coreg to 25mg twice a day to control my HR and BP. It seems to be working.. My hr is running 70bpm and my BP has been consistantly 120/70.. I am very excited something is finally working! Trying to find the right med and dose can be a difficult task...
I had a Abd/Pelvis CT done this week.. I was having a lot of pain (more than usual) in my right kidney so my family doc decided to order it. My lab results showed blood and protein in my urine so she was thinking a stone or that a cyst had ruptured.. CT showed the cyst on top of my right kidney has grown to 6-8cm (depending on the view). It is pressing against my liver thus causing all the pain. Dr Life thinks she saw a stone but the Radiologist said no.. So I guess if I pass one I'll know for sure! I see my nephrologist Wednesday morning so I am hoping he decides to drain the problem causing cysts... A great temporary option until transplant for pain control. I have been so uncomfortable lately. Every time I turn the wrong way or bend over the pain in my kidney is so intense. Tylenol was no longer taking the edge off the pain.. Until then I'm just relying on my new best friends.. Pain meds! They have been working wonders...
So back to my nephrologist Wednesday.. Hope to have some better news!
